Clinical Pharmacy Research Fellow
This postgraduate research fellowship 2 year program is designed to develop and train an independent researcher with advanced skills in conducting pharmacy-practice based research with focus on cardiovascular disease outcomes in an ambulatory, managed care environment. The fellow will receive training in grant writing, protocol development and preparation, study design, outcomes research methodology, statistical analysis, SAS, abstract and manuscript preparation and submission to peer-reviewed journals, and presenting research at professional meetings. The fellow will also receive training in human-subjects protection and the IRB process, budget preparation and management, and leading research teams. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse. Essential Functions: The fellow will design, initiate and conduct new research and also contribute to on-going studies. Project opportunities include prospective, multicenter clinical trials, retrospective observational studies involving Kaiser Permanente datasets, and structured review research. Additional opportunities for rotational experience in clinical practice, teaching, and the possibility for graduate level coursework are available. All fellowship activities will allow close collaboration with a team of clinical pharmacy researchers and experts in pharmacy and medicine with proven research track records. Participates in a collaborative interdisciplinary research projects aimed at evaluating comprehensive medication management services and related clinical activities in the managed care setting Serves as an authoritative resource on the conduct of clinical research Participates in clinical research and manuscript preparation Presents research at applicable national conferences for health care professionals Submits applications for research grant funding Assists in the recruitment of new research fellow Demonstrates leadership and research management skills Completes other projects or duties as assigned throughout the fellowship In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy is required. License, Certification and/or Designation: Pharmacy registration ('license') in Colorado is required. Completion of PGY1 residency is preferred
