Commercial Finance Director & ICT

The organisation’s growth is driving a positive period of transformation and cultural change which is underpinned by a genuine desire to improve all aspects and areas of their business, in a way that is commercially sound and sustainable. In addition to improving current operations and services, they are identifying and delivering new, innovative services which need to be supported through multiple revenue streams. The need for commercial acumen to underpin this philosophy, strategy and change agenda is driving the recruitment of a highly experienced Commercial Finance Director ICT.
The Role
You will have overall responsibility for financial operations and accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit for the business; sourcing new funding and ensuring the integrity of financial records and the provision of timely and incisive fit for purpose financial / management information. This is not just a traditional FD role however. In addition to the above you will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and be enterprising in identifying innovative revenue streams to develop and sustain new services. These opportunities could be MA focussed the expansion of a current service line, diversification of current products and services, additional fund raising, removal of non-value added processes or an improvement across procurement. What is critical to ensure success is that they have been identified as potential opportunities and explored thoroughly. To enable this shift to ensure commercial approaches support social enterprise, as part of the senior leadership team it is also your responsibility to further develop and engender an open culture of creativity, innovation, ideation and driving out cost where possible, so as to enable the business to re-invest additional profits.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will realistically have an altruistic nature, be CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified and operated at FD and have thorough experience in Financial Reporting, Cost Analysis, Budgeting and Month end and Year end reporting. Given the nature of this broad based role you will also need an engaging and inclusive leadership style, an entrepreneurial flair and ability to be able to intuitively identify potential new commercial revenue streams, coupled with experience of business transformation and cultural change programmes. It is expected you will also possess excellent presentation and communication skills and be comfortable operating at board level.
