Commercial Manager/QS recruitment

SFT delivers investment programmes, supports major procurements, develops innovative financing models and is initiating a new  programme of improvement and strategic disposals across public sector real estate.

Reporting to the Accommodation Director, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the existing hub, schools and Non-Profit Distributing (NPD) programmes which together total over £3billion of investment. This will involve assisting with improving value for money on public sector projects, providing cost challenge by establishing benchmarks, offering commercial support to operations teams and taking responsibility for the results.

In more detail, you will help prepare cost analyses, carry out cost research and interrogate costing proposals, support project review and performance management by analysis, benchmarking and dissemination of best practice.

We are seeking an experienced individual with an in-depth knowledge of costs and commercial management, ideally in two or more of the following sectors: (a) community health; (b) local authority buildings; (c) acute health; (d) colleges and (e) schools.

In addition, you should have a proven track record of cost management, an understanding of the public/private sector interface, relevant experience in infrastructure procurement or delivery, and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at every level.  Excellent communication skills, demonstrable commercial acumen and first-rate negotiating skills are also a prerequisite.
