Compliance – Anti-Money Laundering – Analyst/Associate recruitment
BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW
The Anti-Money Laundering/Suspicious Activities Group (“AMLSAG”) has primary responsibility for the execution of the firm’s enterprise-wide AML compliance program and, among other things, performs enhanced due diligence and sanctions list screening processes, as well as surveillance designed to identify potential terrorist financing, money laundering or other suspicious asset movements. The Know Your Customer (“KYC”) team is responsible for developing and implementing the firm-wide Customer Identification Program (“CIP”) and conducts enhanced due diligence on high-risk customer relationships to identify potential legal, regulatory or reputational risk. AMLSAG has two positions available in connection with conducting enhanced due diligence on high-risk customer relationships to identify potential legal, regulatory or reputational risk.
OPPORTUNITY
The AMLSAG London Group is seeking an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Enhanced Due Diligence analyst with extensive prior banking and/or brokerage experience. The role would entail conducting due diligence reviews on higher risk clients, including the monitoring of client information and conducting high-level investigations of potentially suspicious activity and issues involving legal, regulatory and reputational risks. The analyst would be expected to perform due diligence reviews and draft risk analyses reports. The ideal candidate would have strong investigative skills, background and strong understanding of the securities industry, the ability to collaborate with others, and prior compliance experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct enhanced due diligence reviews on higher risk clients including analyzing source of wealth, beneficial ownership and other risk relevant information
• Conduct risk assessments through the performance of investigative internal research using a variety of internet and third-party sources
• Liaise with external third party vendors to undertake enhanced due diligence/background analysis of prospective/existing clients
• Daily surveillance of clients accounts for anomalous, high risk or negative information
• Liaise with various members of the KYC, Operations, Technology teams, external vendors regarding enhanced due diligence investigations and other requests for information
• Investigation and analysis of specific customer information (and potentially transactions) and account documents to research and resolve issues
• Support various core functions of the KYC Team including media surveillance, sanctions list screening and implementation of CIP and enhanced due diligence policies and procedures
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Prior brokerage experience with extensive knowledge of financial markets and products.
• Prior compliance experience is preferable and any prior AML/KYC/Enhanced Due Diligence experience would be a bonus
• Prior experience using due diligence vendors and/or databases would be highly preferable
• Strong analytical skills.
