Compliance Officer
The Position
Our client, a global, award-winning private equity firm, is currently going through the next phase of it's growth, and as such has a rare opportunity for a Compliance Officer to be based in the Channel Islands, at their Guernsey office. This role reports directly into the Head of Compliance, based in London. Your tasks in this role will include:
- Understanding Guernsey regulatory rules and ensuring Guernsey regulations are being followed
- Monitoring, completing checks and updating of regulatory task lists for Guernsey which lists on-going regulatory obligations
- Liaising with global teams, developing and conducting training on Guernsey specific compliance matters
- Reviewing, updating and amending existing policies and manuals to ensure compliance with Guernsey legislation
- Conducting AML oversight and working with the MLRO's team to ensure AML compliance and organizing appropriate training
- Liaising with the GFSC and being the point person for external compliance communications
- Monitoring regulatory changes in Guernsey, leading responses to changes to regulations and keeping up to date with regulatory developments of the GFSC rules and guidance
- Working closely with the Compliance Officer in London and providing ad-hoc support as required by the Head of Group Compliance
Your Profile
The client is open to meeting with candidates who have 3-4 years experience within Guernsey who are looking for the next step in their career. Ideally you will hold a legal qualification with 2 years + post qualification experience. Solid experience with GFSC regulations is highly desirable. The client will consider candidates who have gained compliance experience within the Trust/Banking/Investment Management space in Guernsey. Strong interpersonal skills are a must. Some travel will be expected to both London and Switzerland. You will also need to have strong analytical skills as well as the ability to effectively implement new compliance procedures.
