The Corporate Advisory Restructuring division forms part of the Deals business. Whilst this division has a traditional base in insolvency related projects, there is also a continuing focus on turnaround and restructuring advice, as well as general performance improvement consulting. The role will provide a diverse range of exposure to large and medium sized corporates, as well as consulting to government departments and statutory authorities. The role also entails working with Australian and international banks to help managed their distressed assets. If you are looking to expand your exposure from small insolvency projects, or if your background is in commerce, and you would like an opportunity to work on more challenging and complex business issues, then this role could provide you with that challenge.
Typical responsibilities / projects will include:
- Participating in a broad range of insolvency and insolvency related projects typically generated from financial institution referral
- Dealing with various stakeholders, including creditors, employees, financiers and solicitors
- Maintaining and fostering relationships with equivalent levels at key clients and work referral sources
- Participating in top quality turnaround and restructuring advice for SME to large corporate or government entities
- Developing business skills around financial analysis, management and strategic direction for businesses
- Occasional need to work on interstate or regional projects
To be successful in this role you will ideally have demonstrated 3 - 5 years either in an insolvency or insolvency related position. You will possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to work in a team environment, and under sometimes challenging conditions.
Key Personal Attributes
- A proven capacity to take responsibility for running insolvency administrations, or in the alternative, practical experience in the accounting function of a business.
- The ability to analyse business performance is essential
- Able to demonstrate a willingness to take responsibility and work autonomously
- Be able to interact with all levels of management of target entities
- A proven track record of successful assignment delivery and client relationship management
- The ability to contribute to the development of business/strategic plans for the division
- Able to present solutions in a clear and articulate manner, tailoring style to suit the needs of the client
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- A team focussed style with strong organisational and project management skills
- Self motivated, confident and proactive
Degree backgrounds
- ICAA or be studying towards
- IPA (not essential)
