Credit Analyst
£45,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits

The Company:
London branch of an overseas bank, with extensive range of financial services in Trade Finance, Property lending, Corporate and Institutional Banking.

The Role:
The bank is now in asset acquisition mode as well as having small legacy book in run off. However, the focus is new business and therefore you will need a strong focus and good expertise in assessing new risk. The role requires a confident person able to negotiate in business activities including Treasury (FI and bonds), Trade Finance and Structured Property Finance (developers and HNWI). The role is part of a small dynamic team. Much of the work will be monitoring, assessment and reporting on exceptions and overall portfolio performance. You will also be required to present your views/findings at Executive (and potentially Board) level. The role includes:-

- Assisting in the updating of credit process and manual when required. This may include assist in designing and establishing credit related forms and assist in establishing the future credit process/flow.
- Handling all Credit Risk Management activities. This includes assisting with the daily operations of the Credit and Risk department i.e. credit assessment, documentation, data maintenance, monitoring and attending meetings/calls with clients. You will follow up on problem accounts and make recommendation on actions and provisions for such problem account as required. You will oversee the establishment of credit limits in the Bank's system once credit approval is obtained. You will Review the issuance of credit facility letters and other transactional documentation (ISDAs, netting agreements) and follow up with RMs any credit related issues.
- Reporting related to credit activities will include preparation of a monthly report to the Executive Committee and any ad hoc information as requested by Board and Shareholders, auditors and regulators. It will also include provision of information to financial control for regulatory and financial returns
- Credit risk monitoring related duties includes monitoring compliance with credit facility terms and conditions, monitoring the compliance with internal and regulatory limits and monitoring credit limits. You will monitor the proprietary investment portfolio and Bank lines in terms of credit risk (Moody's, market research) and assist in the preparation of independent risk management reports on the bond and bank portfolios. You will identify and follow up on outstanding credit reviews and expired credit facilities and perform problem loan management.

Who they are looking for:
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have at least 5 - 10 years relevant banking experience in credit risk monitoring and credit administration.
- Be property financed biased.
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- Be organised and detail-oriented and have a proactive and positive attitude

Private banking experience is an advantage but not a requirement
