Credit Analyst recruitment

The Associate position in Counterparty Credit will report to FIRM’s Vice President of Counterparty Credit who heads up the department. Primary duties will include assessing the creditworthiness of all trading counterparties primarily comprised of banks, broker-dealers, other financial institutions, insurance brokers and reinsurers, as well as monitoring the firm’s exposure to these counterparties. Specific responsibilities will include:

  Performing counterparty due diligence at relationship inception and on an ongoing basis, including quarterly reviews of primary counterparties;

  Monitoring the ongoing creditworthiness of the counterparty base through daily reporting;

  Assisting with counterparty exposure reporting requirements to clients and monthly distribution of   financial reporting requirements to counterparties;

  Assisting with database management and maintenance;

  Assisting with RFP responses to clients regarding counterparty management;

  Working closely with the firm’s trading documentation group to help negotiate credit terms in trading agreements;

  Assisting in the day-to-day management of the firm’s counterparty relationships.

Requirements

  A minimum of 2+ years of credit risk management experience with a focus on assessing the creditworthiness of financial institutions, including banks, broker-dealers, insurance/reinsurance companies

  Good general understanding of credit risk systems, credit risk measurement methodologies and credit scoring models

  Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  Familiarity with hedge fund investment strategies and the various financial products traded by hedge funds including swaps, foreign exchange, futures, equities, fixed income and prime brokerage operations

  Strong oral and written skills with the ability to comfortably and effectively interact with principals, clients, sell side credit officers, traders and attorneys

  Hard working, detailed oriented, self-motivated team player that is eager to learn in a highly intellectual, collaborative environment
