Team Overview

Overview of role

Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and completing Schroders' OTC derivatives documentation (ISDA, CSA, Confirmations) Schroders investment management businesses and the private banks, variously in London and Europe, Australasia and the Americas.

Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and completing other market counterparty documentation (clearing agreements, business terms of market counterparties, confidentiality agreements), and reviewing and reporting on capital markets documentation and note issues.

Liaising clearly and openly with line manager and with all departments/areas using derivatives.

Essential Skills

Strong derivatives experience gained ideally both and in a top City law firm and ideally, in-house.

The candidate must demonstrate breadth and depth of direct experience in drafting and negotiating (i) ISDA and GMRA master agreements, and ISDA Credit Support Annexes (both English and New York law) in relation to both plain vanilla and structured transactions, and (ii) derivative product documentation, such as industry standard and bespoke transaction confirmations for credit, equity, commodity, property index, longevity, FX, etc, all cross border.

Strong knowledge of ISDA documentation and techniques used in financing (borrowing).

Very good communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong negotiating skills.

Ability to listen to requirements of others, to respond appropriately and to work together to find solutions; develops effective relationships with internal clients and gains their trust and respect.

Delivering results within expected timeframe.

Understanding of investment management products and issues is preferred; experience of negotiation of ISDA documentation either for or with investment management companies.
