Job Purpose:

• The DSG processing teams are functionally aligned to ETD (Futures, Options, Margins) and OTC (Swaps, Options, Collateral) processing.

• The successful applicant will become an Operations Specialist within one of those teams.

• There will be no direct management responsibilities; however the role may extend to verification of the work of others.

• Work effectively for BAU, projects, new implementations and client on-boarding.

Team Core Functions:

• Trade Capture of all Derivative products into core platforms CMS/IAS/GSP/IMMS/FMA/SUMMIT

• Trade Capture of Stock and Cash Collateral into core platforms

• Reconciliations

• Life Cycle Management

• Client Reporting

Responsibilities:

Development

Build and maintain excellent relationships with partner groups. Also, be responsible for Personal Development through Development discussions and monthly reviews with direct Manager. Cross training within both Processing teams would also be required.

Measures of success

- Develop a good degree of derivatives knowledge on products including Futures, Swaps, Options, FX Forwards, Collateral etc.

- Develop a good understanding of clients, Investment Managers and all internal partners.

- Receive positive feedback from all partner groups and zero complaints

- Demonstrable evidence of functional and operational improvements

- Individual performance reviewed in line with performance management cycle

- Demonstrate ability to perform roles on both OTC and ETD teams after the delivery of required training.

- Assist to develop knowledge and understanding of colleagues with the Processing and Servicing teams.

Accuracy and speed of processing

Be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Exchange Traded (ETD) / Over the Counter (OTC) derivative related activity, as allocated, within the Derivatives Services Group.

Measures of success

- All work completed to a high standard with minimal errors

- Timely completion of all activities assigned

- Immediate escalation as necessary

- Ability to independently investigate and resolve queries, within both internal and external SLAs.

- Work towards all internal and external deadlines for cash, stock and accounting entries, and ensure priority is given to items requiring prioritisation.

- Work closely with processing teams outside of DSG to ensure that DSG processing activities are completed correctly e.g. Banking Ops, Settlements etc.

- Assist colleagues to ensure team targets are met.

Risk Management

Ensure all processing is carried out as per procedures, and within the robust control/oversight environment within DSG.

Measures of success

- Satisfactory or better audit and compliance reports.

- No claims on cost centre due to processing team errors.

- No errors due to not working in line with procedures.

- Participate in review and updating of procedures when required.

- Understand and adhere to all regulatory requirements.

Project Participation

Participation in either DSG or BNYM projects may be required, and the role dictates that dedicated participation would be expected.

Measures of success

- Assist with Projects achieving all published goals and objectives.

- Positive feedback from Project Leads and other Project members.

- Demonstrate the ability to work well within a project group, as well as performing BAU tasks to the required standard.
Qualifications

Personal specification:

• Highly motivated and focused individual with a proven track record

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Ability to effectively plan for all eventualities

• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation

• Derivatives knowledge preferred although not essential

• Experience in a financial services environment essential
Relevant and/or financial degree preferred
