Derivatives Product Manager required by leading global financial services client based in London

The role will involve defining and delivering a number of company and project Initiatives across a suite of data and software products. The role will require coordinating with cross-functional resources to achieve the project objectives.

There will also be a need to provide input into business plans and product strategies for agreed product lines.

The successful candidate will need to have prior experience in conducting data and market analysis, define business requirements and process flows; as well as produce pricing policies,

This will be a client facing position, with a core focus on require business development,actitvities.

 

Product Strategy

·         Analyze and conduct environmental assessments including: industry and competitors trends, customer behavior / preference shifts, legal / legislative changes, regulatory landscape, etc.)

·         Contribute to the competitive assessment process including identifying indirect and direct competitors, as well as product alternatives that risk substituting for the product

·         Analyze product usage patterns to identify segments based on common customer buying behavior

·         Participate in periodic cross-functional project team meetings to ensure the project strategy and operational issues are reviewed

Business Planning

·         Provides input into the annual business plan

·         Produce volume and revenue forecasts

·         Estimate capital, expense budget and headcount

·         Participate in discussions with cross functional team members to identify major initiatives for the coming year

·         Co-ordinate with the Finance department to conduct analysis supporting the development of ROI-based business case for significant investments

·         Evaluate competitive data on an on-going basis to test initial assumptions for business planning purposes

Product Development

·         Contribute towards product specific communications including fact sheets, important notice, conceptual model, newsletter articles etc

·         Attend meetings with customers and prospects and documents their views of the marketplace, evolving needs, product problems / opportunities

·         Prepares briefing papers for meetings with customers or prospects

·         Supports client selling retention efforts with Relationship Management / Sales

·         Provides input into sales distribution tactics working with cross functional teams

Quality and Customer Experience

·         Develop product contingency plans and participates in BCP exercises when required

·         Draft training material

·         Identifies quality issues outside the Operational Risk review

Financial Management

·         Contribute to the development of annual revenue forecast, direct costs and to updating financial performance metrics

·         Review data and provide input into alternative pricing scenarios / structures / volume-based arrangements in light of internal cost structures and regulatory approval

·         Analyze pricing/cost structures relative to competitor’s pricing / cost structures

Project Management

·         Play a key role in the development of business Initiatives such as building of new products or enhancement / extension of current products

·         Perform product analysis, which will include data analysis, conceptual model, process flows, business case and produce presentation materials to support business case development

·         Work with Project Manager to define the plan, business requirements as well as deadlines

·         Produce Business deliverables as part of the product development methodology process

·         Apply BA skills on all aspects of the project lifecycle from project initiation through to implementation and benefit realization assessment

·         Identify key risks and issues which impact delivery of project/business initiative and bring to the attention of the heads of divisions

Regulatory Monitoring and Response

·         Provide input on to the Legal team to prepare required documentations (regulatory documents, contracts or agreements)

·         Liaise with Legal and Compliance to drive change to the regulatory landscape

·         Provides input into response to audit reviews of product(s)

Required knowledge

·         Strong experience in derivatives trade processing is a pre-requisite

·         Prior experience working for a Data vendor

·         Business analysis and project management skills

·         Software implementation development lifecycle background

·         3+ years financial service experience conducting Product Management responsibilities, 

·         Background in project implementations involving multiple stakeholders across locations

·         Proven experience in product analysis, business analysis requirements, conceptual model

Basic salary: Up to £70,000 + excellent bonus benefits package
