About the role
Macquarie Funds Group (MFG) is Macquarie Group's funds management business. MFG is a full-service asset manager, offering a diverse range of products including infrastructure and real asset management, securities investment management and fund and equity based solutions. The group had $A343 billion assets under management at 31 March 2013. MFG has been managing assets for pension funds, institutions and retail investors since 1980 in Australia and 1929 in the US (through a predecessor firm of Delaware Investments). MFG has global reach, with a team of over 1,400 staff in Australia, Asia, the UK, Europe and the US. MFG comprises three business divisions: Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) and Macquarie Specialised Investment Solutions (MSIS) This is a senior role leading a team managing compliance processes across all three to ensure Macquarie continues to meet the obligations of its regulatory and compliance framework.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing training programs and records
- Updating compliance plans including monitoring of business activities
- Liaising with central compliance teams to maintaining AFS Licences
- Managing fillings with ASIC for Registered Managed Investment Schemes
- Co-ordinating audit liaison
- Managing Board/Compliance committee and internal management reporting
- Reviewing, updating and implementing policies and procedures as required
- Managing and delivering on compliance projects and monitoring programs
- A high level of autonomy and the opportunity to shape the Compliance function across MFG
- implement and drive efficiencies/consistency in processes
About you
- Australian funds management specific compliance experience including Registered Management Investment Schemes
- Understanding of the legislative environment , specifically Compliance Plans and other licensing obligations under AFSL
- Achievement orientation with the ability to influence and affect change across a broad range of stakeholders
- Previous team leadership experience

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed. The Compliance Division within Macquarie's Risk Management Group provides compliance support and advice to Macquarie's operating businesses. Compliance staff are aligned with Macquarie's operating businesses, assisting those businesses globally to manage their compliance risks. These, together with a strong, committed team are key drivers of Macquarie's success.
