Business Segment: Pharmaceutical Function: Marketing What Marketing Management contributes to Cardinal Health Marketing Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Marketing function What is expected of you and others at this level in Marketing for functional success · Responsible for the Go To Market Strategy in the Acute Care business (services offers) · Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces · Collaborates with others and builds strategic alliances globally; negotiates to build broad- based support and/or persuades others in order to do so · Demonstrates deep customer expertise; collaborates with appropriate parties to identify t he drivers leading to business success. · Encourages informed Risk-taking and acts as a catalyst for innovation at Cardinal Health; generates practical, sustainable and creative options to solve problems and create business opportunities, while maximizing existing resources. · Evaluates alternative solutions/decisions in light of the potential impact on the internal/external customer and Cardinal Health; understands the resource implications of solutions and makes recommendations in adherence to governance and prioritization guidelines. · Communicate effectively the developed recommendations both verbally in senior management meetings and in written presentation (both MS Word MS Powerpoint) Preparing executive level communications (memos, presentations) and facilitating discussions with key leaders in the sales and marketing organizations Accountabilities in this role · Develops the overall vision, strategy, initiatives and marketing plans that maximize opportunities while meeting marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives · Responsible for the commercialization and market launch of new products and line extensions, through the collaboration with internal and external resources · Deep understanding of marketing analytics (e.g., segmentation) in order to be able to guide the team to execute on required analytics to support the overall Go To Market approach · Prioritizes marketing communication and development activities for assigned product and service categories to ensure fit with Acute Care strategies and overall company objectives; responsible for execution of product and/or service launch and post launch surveillance based on agreed timelines · Develops appropriate programs and promotions to achieve successful new product and service launches · Develops and continually deepens expertise in product and service knowledge and monitors the competitive marketplace for strategic indicators and threats · Frequently interacts with opinion leaders, field sales and end-users to seek opportunities for new products, services and corresponding enhancements. · Works to involve Sales, Training, Program Management, Operations and other cross-functional participants in learning activities · Responsible for preparation of annual marketing and expense budgets and monitoring/managing performance vs. budget · Has hands-on responsibility in the areas of new products, services, advertising, promotion, research, public relations, pricing and positioning · Provides support to sales and the pharmaceutical division relative to progress of work, resolution of problems, and assurance that standards for quality and quantity of work are met · Provides strategic direction and leadership for tradeshows, conferences, advisory boards and internal events Qualifications Minimum of 8 years experience in marketing required, with at least 5 years in classical marketing and a minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience · 3 years minimum pharmaceutical/biotech/distribution marketing experience required; hospital and pharmaceutical distribution experience strongly preferred · Familiarity with the pharmaceutical supply chain, GPO environment, and pharmaceutical distribution strongly desired · Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required; MBA strongly preferred · Demonstrated experience in marketing, product, service, and project management, including new product and service launches · Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to solve practical problems, make logical decisions, and communicate ideas · Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies · Knowledge of financial statements as well as financial and unit forecasting methods;
