Director-Natural Catastrophe Risk (PhD) Insurance Analytics

This is a Senior Role that will lead a group that is designing and implementing a structured process for independent review, testing, reliability, approval and documentation of Cat Risk Models and Insurance Analytics. The role will manage at team that will examine everything from data use, to model setup, to the development of key assumptions to how the model is utilized for effective decision making. The Candidate will use best practices (OCC-2011-12) and advanced statistical modeling and data mining to replicate and review Nat Cat risk models and will manage large scale data to improve the data accuracy and decisions made from data analysis. The Candidate must have 5-8 years of relevant work experience in statistical modeling and data mining in a Property Casualty insurance context (NAT CAT Model Experience required Earthquake, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood, Windstorm, Wildfire, Tsunami) using large and complex datasets. Experience in statistical modeling tools (RMS, EQECAT, AIR) and deep knowledge of linear regression, logistic regression, GLM, tree models, cluster analysis, principal components and validation are required. Programming skills should include (Matlab, R, C/C++, or Python). Experience building and validating Nat Cat risk models and experience working with regulators would be a major plus. This is considered a senior position and the compensation will be at the upper ranges for the Insurance Industry.
