The Director of Nursing manages the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) and recommends qualified competent persons to provide care. Integrates department services with the hospital’s primary function. Coordinates and integrates services within departments. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provisions of services. Supervises nursing staff and assures staff competency. Develops, markets, implements, and evaluates new services and programs. Participates in outside source selection for needed services. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Provides for orientation, inservice training, and continuing education for persons in the department. Assumes the duties of the Associate Nursing Executive or Administrative Coordinator as assigned.
 
Minimum Requirements:

 
Education: Graduate from accredited school of nursing, Bachelor of Science degree required. Masters prepared preferred.
 

Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications: Current state of Missouri RN license required. Certification in area of specialty preferred. BLS and ALS certification required and maintained.

 
Experience: Five (5) years of current clinical nursing experience required.
 
Management Experience: Two (2) years experience as a Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Clinical Manager required.
 
Administrative Skills: Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required.
 
Equipment/Machine Skills: Basic computer knowledge required.
