Early Warning & Rehabilitation Manager recruitment

Our client is a leading regional bank with a rich history dating bank over forty years. Well capitalised and with an excellent credit rating, they are extremely well placed to continue their growth into 2012 and beyond. As part of this strategy they are looking to expand their Risk team and are currently recruiting for a newly create Early Warning Rehabilitation Manager position.

Daily responsibilities will include:

• Continuously refine the Early Warning (EW) processes/systems so as to increase the reliability and predictability of that process;

• Monitor EW names as well as actions plans and their execution (with sales help where appropriate);

• Developing triggers for Early Alert (EA) classification and preparing appropriate Classification Memos for EA names

• Monitor economic developments as they relate to particular industries and model impact on the portfolio if required;

• Help to establish and maintain sound credit risk disciplines, policies and practices in the bank’s SME segment;

• Promote a risk management culture that provides good analysis, sound judgment, flexibility and a correct “risk/reward” balance;

• Assist in developing effective market and portfolio data analytics and portfolio management information;

• Contribute to the optimization of recovery and minimization of provisions within the SME lending book.

Applicants will need to be currently based in the GCC and have a minimum of 3-5 years experience of credit risk within a commercial banking SME environment. The successful candidate will also have a background in credit corporate reconstruction and “intensive care” on distressed portfolios. Coupled with the above, all candidates will need to have a strong accountancy and numeric background and be able to demonstrate a strong commercial acumen. Although not a prerequisite, Arabic would be a distinct advantage.
