Electrical Package Manager Job in London Central/West End, London UK
Overall purpose of the role:
As Electrical Package Manager you will be responsible for the management, co-ordination and delivery of the electrical Package from development and design through to commissioning. This includes amongst others to manage the offshore and onshore cable installation, project control, risk management and quality, contract management, and delivering the electrical work package within health and safety and environmental project objectives. It is essential to be able to work and cooperate with the full project team, such as other package managers.
Main Responsibilities Work Tasks
- Managing, co-ordinating and delivering the electrical package from development, detailed design through to commissioning
- Management of the offshore and onshore cable installation
- Management of contractors
- Responsible for project control, risk management and quality for package
- Manage package within project financial and Programme objectives
- Identify and manage interfaces within the electrical package and other packages
- Deliver the package within HSE project
- Provide electrical engineering project management expertise
- Management of internal client project budgets and cost control
- Writing technical specifications and reports
Work Tasks:
(Specific tasks for this position will include but are not limited to those listed below)
- Manage planning and development tasks related to the electrical package and advice on choice of electrical technology
- Manage the offshore and onshore cable installation
- Evaluation of Electrical Manufacturers´ development of new technology
- Preparation of feasibility studies and implementation of due diligence tasks
- Liaise and coordinate with multiple Electrical Manufacturers and Consultants to identify options for standardisation and upscaling of production
- Preparation, evaluation and negotiation of tender documents for electrical procurement
- Provide technical input to commercial agreements and contracts to ensure project risks are mitigated
- Contribute to the identification and management of issues and impacts to the projects
- Manage, liaise and coordinate with multiple Consultants and Contractors delivering support on electrical work package
- Identifying interfaces on electrical work packages and liaising with the Interfacing Manager and Managers of related work packages
- Ensure that work scopes run on time and within budget
- Ensure that the projects maintain high levels of health and safety standards
Education/Qualification
- Degree qualified Electrical Engineer, or other suitable technical, preferably Chartered
- A Masters degree in electrical Engineering would be an advantage.
Experience
- Proven Several years of electrical engineering experience (+5 years preferable)
- Significant project management experience
- Strong technical background within Electrics for Offshore Windfarms or closely related industries
- Good commercial and planning skills
- Able to work in a team and build strong relationships
- Offshore Survival Certificate: Beneficial but not required
- Experience of working cross culturally and across global locations
Location
London. The positions will require significant travelling within the UK and possibly Europe.
