EQD Trade Management Manager
The Hong Kong Equity Derivatives Middle Office is currently a 10+ person team supporting the Equity Derivatives Front Office in Hong Kong, Australia, Japan and Korea covering numerous equity derivative products.
Coverage is split into 2 teams –
1) Flow and Japan Support
2) Exotics and Convertibles Support
The role is primarily responsible for the following:
- Act as primary faceoff point to the Equity Derivatives desk in Asia Pacific
- Initiate and drive projects on process enhancements and control improvements to maximize efficiencies and minimize operational risk
- Support growth of the region and revenue through New Business
- Liaise and collaborate with various Shared Services departments globally
- Manage, allocate and plan team resource to ensure adequate support is available to meet existing and future demands of the business
Key deliverables would be
- Develop, monitor and ensure the achievement of KRIs that were established with the Senior Management team.
- Proactively foster positive relationship with key stakeholders (e.g., clients and FO) and ensure proper controls are administered and understood.
- Responsible for controls sign-off documentation. (e.g. Internal Audit, BCP, Regulatory Reporting, etc.)
- Identify, mitigate and eliminate potential operational risk, and escalate as necessary
- Drive the documentation and timely update of workflows and work procedures for the department.
- Understand market regulations and ensuring that processes and systems are adapted to optimally support these requirements
- Work with Senior Manager to develop and roll-out appropriate processes controls to support New Business.
- Interact with Senior Manager on operational, strategic and people issues.
- Manage multiple Assistant Managers/Supervisors.
- Support and implement internal mobility plans for team members
- Create succession plans for all roles within team, including self; and facilitate appropriate cross training
- Actively participate in staff recruitment (including campus recruiting for entry level positions)
1. Eight to ten years industry experience
2. Excellent knowledge of Front Office Operations processes and Equity Derivative products
3. Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
4. Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive change
5. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
6. Proven ability to be a leader of people and process
7. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
8. Proactive in self training and ability to implement new controls and procedures to improve own role.
9. Analytical and confident personality with excellent relationship skills in order to interact with sales, trading, and senior management on business issues.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent diploma
