iShares Background
iShares is the brand name for one of the world's largest ranges of exchange traded funds (ETFs), which is marketed and managed by BlackRock. iShares funds are available to both professional and private investors. iShares funds combine the advantages of stocks and index mutual funds: iShares can be bought and sold like any other security listed on a stock exchange, providing exposure to an entire index through a single trade. They therefore combine the flexibility and liquidity of a security with the diversification of a fund.
