This is an exciting opportunity within the Institutional Equity Division (IED) Global Product Control Group offering an opportunity to supervise complex balance sheet substantiation and controls. The role involves regular presentations to Managing Directors in the IED Business Unit, Tax and Finance providing excellent exposure for the successful candidate. Balance sheet responsibilities cover a wide range of Equity related tax accounts providing opportunity to learn about taxation across global markets including the recently introduced Financial Transaction Tax. The successful candidate will enjoy complexity and thrive on becoming a subject matter expert in order to support new businesses and respond to market changes. A high regard for detail and in depth experience of Microsoft Excel is essential and the reward will be an interesting and varied role coupled with high levels of responsibility.

• Review of balance sheet and expense substantiation across a range of Equity Tax related accounts
• Close partnership with Operations, Accounting Policy, Tax, Legal Entity Controllers, Equity Product Controllers and Equity Business Unit
• Oversight of deployed reconciler functions in Glasgow Office
• Reporting and presentation to Managing Directors within Global Product Control, Equity Business Unit and Tax
• Contribution to projects related to market changes and process control improvements.

Skills Required

• Post qualified ACCA/ACA/ CIMA or equivalent
• Strong balance sheet review and substantiation skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to understand technical detail and complex structures
• Advanced Excel skills are required including V Lookups, Pivot tables If Statements

Skills Desired

• A degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Maths, Physics or other Science based subjects is preferred
• Understanding of Equity corporate actions and dividends
• Understanding of dividend with holding tax, tax credits and tax reclaim.
