We are currently seeking an Associate or Senior Associate level ESG research analyst to join our ESG team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

MSCI ESG Research, part of MSCI Inc, is seeking to expand its ESG Research analyst team.  The ESG research analyst is expected to have a strong interest in ESG trends and specific knowledge about the dominant ESG issues for selected industries.  The analyst will investigate and assess core ESG risks faced by the industries and evaluate performance along the key benchmarks for large publicly traded companies globally. 

Contact with the corporations we assess, presentations of industry and company analysis to both MSCI clients and potential clients, as well as contribution to developing our ratings model are a potential component of the work on our ESG research analyst team. A qualified candidate would have experience in conducting analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and have strong facility with modeling.

Currently, we are seeking candidates with experience in the following industries: Healthcare; Public Health; Food; Nutrition; Agriculture; Insurance, Banking, and Financial Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• analyze and prepare performance profiles for 80-100 companies per year

• prepare 3-5 industry reports per year
• prepare 3-5 ESG issue white papers (1-5 pages each)

• present industry and company analysis to clients and other external parties
• contribute to developing new or modifying existing analytical framework for related industries to reflect regulatory or market developments

• contact corporations with information inquiries

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• minimum of 3-5 years of full-time professional experience in:

 

o Food or Agribusiness industry, or

o Healthcare or Public Health field preferably on the corporate side, or
o Financial Services experience that includes exposure to ESG investment products, or
o Research experience in leading NGO, public policy or academic institution focusing on one of the business sectors listed above

• Strong background in research and analysis
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Experienced at presenting results of research in public settings
• Advanced degree in related field preferred (masters or PhD)
