ETF Portfolio Manager – Absolute Return – Top Regional Asset Manager (China based)
The fund manager current manages Equities, Fixed Income and Money Markets and runs an absolute return strategy as a firm.
This portfolio manager will be in the firm's Index Portfolio Management team, which manages exchange traded funds (ETFs) and index mutual funds for Greater China names.
Job Responsibilities
The Portfolio Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for managing the index needs for the assive investment strategies, as well as supporting portfolio managers in the daily investment process.
- Support and work closely with Index and ETF Portfolio Managers.
- Support the equity trading and ETF basket process.
- Work closely with various counterparts including trading, trade operations, fund accounting, custodian and technology.
- Responsible for research, analysis and projection of index changes and corporate actions.
- Work with index vendors to manage index related information and ensure integrity of index data in portfolio management tools.
- Actively participate to continuously enhance index research processes.
Technical/Functional Qualifications
- Bachelor degree, with an emphasis in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field required.
- MBA or CFA desired.
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in roles requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills and have focused on Greater China mutual funds, index and ETF space.
- 3+ years experience in asset management or capital markets with working knowledge of index methodology preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge a must with ability to handle/manage large quantity of data.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Familiar with investment tools and systems such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Barra or other risk management products preferred.
- Must have strong attention to detail and communication skills.
The team does not have a portfolio manager handling the ETF book exclusively thus allowing a lot of leg room for a long term career prospect within the company.
