Our client, a global leader with over 3,000 employees, is seeking a strong HRIS Manager for their downtown
MUST HAVE:
- BA or BS
- ADP Enterprise experience 3+ years ADP Enterprise is not just ADP, it?s a full service benefits, payroll, timesheet, and employee self service. So, ADP in and of itself won?t work.
- Union and non union exposure preferred
- 4+ years managerial experience
Summary:
Responsible for the overall operation of the Payroll Department, the successful completion of the weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, the timely submission of payroll reports, garnishments and the timely payment of payroll taxes. Specific duties include resolving payroll issues and problems, supervising the Payroll staff, maintaining and resolving issues with ADP and Kronos systems, preparing and transmitting taxes and reports, resolving discrepancy reports, entering data online, processing W-2s and working with auditors.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee and guarantee weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes to 3,000 employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
- Oversee the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
- Manage payroll supervisor, who supervises payroll staff that includes payroll administrators
- Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
- Authorize processing and audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.
- Coordinate annual processing of employee W-2s
- Effectively communicate actively with Operations, HR and other internal company departments to review cross-departmental impacts
- Partner with HR, HRIS and benefits in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll and benefits system
- Ensure payroll and time-keeping systems are set-up and updated to reflect current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation/PTO time in line with contracts (union and non-union)
- Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, semi-monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
- Help coordinate and facilitate vendor and internal system interfaces ? This includes GL Interface, vendor feeds, etc.
- Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx 404) compliance requirements for the department
Skills:
- BA or BS degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent level of knowledge in relevant field
- 3+ years of exposure and use of ADP Enterprise system and Kronos Time-Keeping System
- 7+ years of experience with payroll work, including in union and non-union environments
- 4+ years of experience with managing a payroll processing staff
- Experience with the taxation for federal, state and local jurisdictions
- Experience as a certified payroll professional
- Ability to use analysis to resolve complex payroll issues
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage, develop and lead staff to excellent performance
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Extensive operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Operating knowledge of and experience with ADP Enterprise payroll software and Kronos Time-Keeping System.
