FATCA Analyst
The FATCA Analyst will be responsible for various duties covering Corporate Tax/FATCA and AML/KYC compliance, including FATCA data and classification quality control, beneficial ownership analysis, communications, stakeholder engagement, tax reporting, metrics generation and operational risk management.
The job holder will work closely with the FATCA Program Management team, KYCS Analysts and KYCS Managers, the Tax Group including Tax compliance, the Business, other stakeholders and outside vendors.
To QA and Approve FATCA classification for clients supported by KYCS Americas, perform Beneficial Owner Analysis, and liaise with production and internal/external stakeholders including KYCS, Compliance, and the Business to ensure FATCA regulatory compliance.
Control/Risk Management
- Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures
- Maintain Internal Control standards and understand the Operational Risks associated with the role; identify and report operational risk issues
- Ensure compliance with FATCA and related AML/KYC regulatory and policy requirements; understand the FATCA compliance life cycle across risk assessment, strategy development, account identification, withholding and reporting, disclosure and apply procedural quality assurance standards
- Assist Manager in updating processes and procedures to reflect changes/updates in FATCA compliance requirements
- Strong Business Analysis and Project Management skills - manage assigned portfolio to meet regulatory deadlines
Governance Stakeholder Management
- Excellent ability to understand, interpret, apply and communicate regulatory and policy requirements
- Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities; engage stakeholders to understand, manage and meet expectations
- Co-work with multiple client onboarding and engagement teams and a wide variety of clients to deliver professional and timely services
Special Projects
- FATCA Remediation - Application of FATCA Policy Requirements to Existing Clients
- Projects/Tasks as required Tax/KYCs
- Understand and adapt to change; ensure that processes and procedures are continually updated to reflect changes in FATCA/AML KYCS regulatory compliance requirements
- Technology – adapt to on and off line systems/work-arounds
- Work cohesively and effectively with KYCS - NB, Renewals (Remediation) and with all stakeholders using strong communication and influencing skills
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the current financial services regulatory environment
- Proven experience in operational risk management and understanding of governance, issue resolution and reporting; specific focus on FATCA and KYC/AML compliance with a thorough knowledge of Client Onboarding, Account Identification and Due Diligence
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) and influencing capabilities
- Strong project management, procedure development, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently while at the same time work cohesively within a team
- Delivery-focused with ability to pay attention to detail and ensure tasks meet required deadlines and to the required levels of quality
Ideal Experience / Skills
- Experience in working with FATCA Program Development, Tax Compliance and tax forms, AML/KYCS analysis, financial statements
- Experience in complex financial services
