Job Title: Financial / Hedge Accountant
One of our leading European Banking clients is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant / Hedge Accountant for a 10-12 Month contract. A thorough understanding of IAS39 /IFRS9 accounting rules are essential as well as someone who wants to get their hands dirty and get stuck in the day to day reporting. The role will be based in Central London and the successful candidate must be available to start work on short notice.
The Role:
* Candidate will specifically look after the micro fair value hedges and certain macro hedges of investment securities.
* You will be required to look after some of the legal entity reporting areas; for the first 3-4 months.
* Accounts reconciliations of retained earnings, processing of dividend payments, tax journals and potentially any other ad hoc ledger analysis as required by the business.
* Responsible for month end work and other ad hoc reporting.
Criteria for candidates:
* Qualified accountant with at least 2 yrs PQE with banking experience.
* Someone with an audit background and reporting experience would be ideal.
* Application of knowledge of IAS39 and the hedging rules are essential as candidate is expected to perform regression analysis, analysis of delta of trades in hedging instruments (hence basic valuation knowledge will be ideal).
* Dynamic / academically intelligent and able to learn quickly and have great attention to detail.
