Fixed Income Application Support Analyst (VBA) – Investment Manager recruitment
The candidate will need to have excellent communication skills to engage with the business and provide hands-on VBA code maintenance and fixes with ownership/responsibility for a set of global Fixed Income applications covering Fund Managers, Research Analysts and Traders.
Essential Skills
• Proven experience in the IT department of a financial services organisation (buy or sell side)
• Excellent experience of VBA coding and Office 2007 (expert)
• Experience with Fixed Income trading applications and familiarity with the business process flows.
• Demonstrable experience in the support of proprietary/in-house developed applications
• Working knowledge of the main providers of market data, including Bloomberg and Reuters.
• In-depth experience as a power user of productivity tools such as Microsoft Office
• Proven experience in analysing, identifying ‘root cause’ and solving related issues
• Technical skills in support and enhancement of Excel add-ins macros, Perl and VBA
• Ability to deal with challenging business stakeholders, swiftly take ownership of issues and resolve
• Ability to analyse complex problems in a structured manner whilst working under pressure
Desirable Skills
• Buy-side front-office application support experience including Portfolio Management Research tools
• Securities industry qualifications e.g. IAQ
• Keen interest in understanding business structure and business processes.
• Experience providing front line support on the Charles River IMS to a trading floor
• Familiar with ITIL Service Management
