Fixed Income Credit Analyst
The successful candidate will be expected to write strategy pieces for communication to the Fixed Income team’s clients and to speak with institutional clients as required to share and receive ideas.
This role is based in London with a European focus therefore business level Spanish is required, and an element of travel will be involved. The role will report to the Head of Research, Fixed Income Credit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Take responsibility for covering and analysing a primary group of companies.
· You will be expected to know the fundamental financial drivers and credit statistics for each company under coverage and have an opinion as to valuation considerations such as revenue, profitability and liquidity.
· Generate weekly ideas (whether written or verbal) to share with the Fixed Income desk and institutional clients.
· The role is required to effectively bridge the gap between the credit fundamentals and put the key credit considerations in the context of the market technicals.
· Educate the Fixed Income desk (traders, sales people and strategy colleagues) on specific ideas, situations and themes as they arise.
· Contribute to the daily, written communication piece regarding latest company news and market highlights.
· Communicate regularly with institutional clients (written, verbal and face-to-face as appropriate) in order to share with clients a deeper investment perspective than the sales person may be able to communicate.
· Share your investment ideas when communicating with clients. Gain an understanding of the client’s investment ideas and perspectives and share this information with the Fixed Income desk.
· We require someone to be a “team player” and pitch in where appropriate to help with other aspects of sales, trading and/or strategy away from their primary coverage responsibilities.
· In accordance with FSA regulations act as the front line in following, identifying and enforcing issues associated with compliance. Attend regular in-house compliance and company policy training courses as required
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
· At least 3 years of related market experience in credit analysis strategy or research
· Business level Spanish is essential; knowledge of French or German would be advantageous.
· Highly numerate with the ability to analyse large quantities of information.
· Proven ability to understand, analyse and communicate fundamental credit ideas.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Team skills, enthusiasm and the initiative to drive efficiency and change where required.
· Registered or can be registered as an Approved Person (under current FSA guidelines).
