General Manager
Our client is looking for a highly innovative investment product specialist with proven design, and outstanding implementation capabilities in product development to be located on the East Coast of Australia.
The opportunity
The role involves a degree of innovation to design, develop and implement the relative product and investment strategy roadmap, as well as accountability over the full product lifecycle including management and rationalisation as required.
The role requires a focus across the institutional and wholesale segments. Speed to market and an ability to deliver profitable outcomes are critical.
The successful individual will be required to work along side the following teams:
- Distribution, marketing and investment management teams to identify and quantify product opportunities.
- Finance, operations and external agencies to provide support for development.
- Legal/Compliance departments and legal advisers on fund creations/changes and regulatory matters
Candidate capabilities
A successful candidate must be a strategic thinker and have excellent investment credentials, with sound commercial, legal and regulatory knowledge as well as experience and knowledge across multiple asset classes. International and/or Regional experience in Investment or Asset Management would be highly attractive but an in-depth knowledge of the Domestic market is critical.
In addition, the individual needs to be highly collaborative, influential and unifying. They must have advanced project management skills and strong key stakeholder management coupled with outstanding communication and strong presentation skills. Strong institutional market focus and externally connected along with strong IT, tax, fund accounting and other operational understanding/capabilities are necessary. Financial acumen and budget management skills are critical and it is preferred that the individual is Tertiary qualified with a Bachelor in commerce, economics, business or finance. An MBA in Finance and / or CFA Investments would be highly regarded.
