Global Research Economist (Director/Senior Director)
Global financial services institution seeking a senior level (Director/Senior Director) Global Research Economist for London-based role within a global team focused on providing institutional research content to corporations, governments and financial institutions as well as internally to the firms’ executive management. This team comprises of 190 professionals located in over 13 countries and is responsible for the delivery of client-facing research.
Specific responsibilities within this role include, but are not limited to;
- Identifying and researching major cross-country themes in economies and markets, producing high quality reports and presentations for publication.
- Building key relationships: Internally with Global Research, senior management, Risk, Corporate affairs, Strategy Board. Externally with policy-makers around the world in institutes, government, academia, private sector, media.
- Contributing to Global Research publications and presentations, reports to senior management and presenting Global Research to the media
- Demonstrating a deep understanding and experience of economic issues, particularly in emerging markets. Display strong analytical skills and the ability to be convincing in presentations.
- Being at the forefront of current debates and issues in economics and markets. Need to be able to prepare economic research to the highest standards of business economics.
Candidates applying for this role will have demonstrable experience and knowledge, and academics including;
- A degree in economics or closely related subject together with substantial experience in global macroeconomics research, particularly emerging markets.
- The ability to write to a very high standard and have excellent communications skills.
