The duties of the Head of Human Resources, Asia Pacific is to provide a full range of human resource related support and services to top management and core business units located in APAC with strategic advisory and leadership responsibilities that span across key functions such as talent acquisition and management, employment ordinance and taxation, policies and regulations, immigration and relocation/mobility, training and development, knowledge management, compensation and benefits, succession mapping and employee growth expansion plans, etc; as well as ensuring that such functions and strategies are aligned with business initiatives and the continual growth plans of the APAC business.
Act as a key senior business partner to…
- Vice Presidents and Heads and of other APAC businesses and teams to align HR strategies and plans to business initiatives and goals.
- Plan and determine talent acquisition and other HR development and growth project plans and timelines to support key business initiatives.
- Implement and reinforce HR functions across the business such as talent acquisition and management, employment ordinance and taxation, policies and regulations, immigration and relocation/mobility, training and development, knowledge management, compensation and benefits, expansion planning and forecasting, etc.
- Ensure that all existing and new HR policies are introduced and reinforced and operate as efficiently as possible and in-line with business initiatives.
- Provide guidance to Vice Presidents and Heads and of other APAC businesses on topics such as people management, knowledge management, learning and development so that their teams are managed effectively and grow with the business.
Provide functional, operational and strategic leadership in areas such as…
- Talent Management – to help business units acquire, retain and development quality talent as well as managing training and development, performance reviews, succession planning, competency mapping and employee growth expansion plans.
- Knowledge Management – to help collect, record, accumulate and retain knowledge and expertise across the business.
- Policies and Regulations – to help introduce, implement, standardize and reinforce existing and new HR policies across the business in-line with national laws and regulations.
- Compensation and Benefits – to implement, standardize and manage CB reward programs to ensure practices are consistent and nondiscriminatory.
- Relocation and mobility – to help relocate staff globally while adhering to international regulations and policies relating to global mobility, taxation, immigration and emigration, etc.
- Human Resource Operations and Management – to develop, improve, implement and manage existing and new HR operational processes as well as manage external vendor partners (i.e. recruitment agencies, payroll, etc) effectively; aligning HR goals with business initiatives and continual growth plans of the APAC business through effective planning and management of regional HR strategies and programs.
Ideal Experience and Characteristics:
- A degree holder with at least 10 years of human resource functional and operational working experience across all areas of HR with excellent level of expertise, background and understanding of leadership and organizational development in one or more HR key functions (listed above).
- Exceptional level of professional HR skills and expertise with a proven track record of working as a senior business partner with leadership experience.
- Excellent business etiquette and acumen with prior experience executing and managing business transformation and international growth in a professional multinational environment
- Possess a strong level of skills in customer service, cooperation, communication and relationship-building as well as a dynamic and strategic business mind-set with emphasis on continuous development and implementation of HR initiatives and improvement programs across the APAC region.
