Head of Institutional Client Services recruitment

The key objective of the job holder is to achieve total client satisfaction through a highly responsive team responsible for Institutional service activities in the Asia Pacific region. The role has the responsibility for leading and driving the department to meet the growing demands of Institutional markets. This position interfaces and works closely with the Regional and Country Heads within the Asia institutional businesses and maintains key internal relationships within the organisation Regional Oversight Group, Legal and key Operational Groups.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for, and management of, all activities and matters relating to the institutional client services of the Asia business.

• Ensuring that the team continues to have appropriate skills and infrastructure to support Asia institutional business and its strategic objectives.

• Maintaining the interface with the region, country and other functional heads in order to contribute to both strategic and tactical decision-making and the implementation of those decisions.

• Ensure the effective, timely and accurate management of all issues to ensure a trouble free take-on process

• Qualification - ensure and promote key elements of the policies, processes and products, and apply consistent application of standards and procedures to ensure identification of exceptions to the standards, by analysing, qualifying and escalating exceptions. 

• Coordination - manage internal co-ordination of all activities affecting new clients and liaise regularly with internal contacts and Senior Management. Ensure individual client service managers plan effectively, communicate and deliver the expected outcome.

• Negotiation - oversight and consultation, team is responsible for proactively managing, negotiating and producing the Investment Management Agreement with effective and early communications to the client regarding Policy and Investment Management issues.

• Service - drive the delivery of a premium service to institutional clients. Manage / oversee all aspects of client administration and related service delivery from other internal support functions.

• Change Management - oversee and manage appropriate change activity for institutional clients ensuring all the above duties are fulfilled during the change management process.

Experience / Qualifications

• 10+ years in investment management industry, ideally for trustee company, fund manager or insurance company

• Extensive knowledge of Investment Management processes from an operational perspective; University graduate in business, finance, economics or a related discipline

• Experience in negotiating Investment Management agreements for institutional clients

• Experience of overseeing and working with Third Party service providers (e.g. Custodians, Transition Managers)

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both written and spoken English

• Ability to manage a complex portfolio of strategic and operational issues, with the capacity to work through influence as well as authority

• Proven people management skills and experience in managing / coaching / leading a team

• Highly responsive with a strong commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity
