Hedge Fund Accountant- Billion Dollar Firm recruitment
This firm is known as one of the best firms to work for in Chicago because of their outstanding culture and benefits. In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting of hedge funds and management companies.
This includes:
• Daily reconciliation of bank and brokerage accounts.
• Daily preparation of portfolio valuation and portfolio analytics.
• Responsible for trade settlements.
• Prepare audited financial statements and assist in tax preparation for the various partnerships and companies.
• Monthly calculation of fund performance
• General accounting responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with outstanding academic credentials.
• 2-4 years public accounting experience preferred, with industry focus in the financial services industry; familiarity with accounting and operational mechanics of the securities industry.
• Experience with spreadsheets, general ledger and portfolio software a must.
Additional Qualifications:
• PC experience – MS Word; Excel; Outlook
• Demonstrated team player; self starter; independent thinker; excellent judgment
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Exposure to financial reporting and auditing.
• Experience with investment partnerships, mutual funds, brokerage firms or investment banks helpful.
