The HR Advisor will provide subject matter expert on employee relations advice and use superior influencing skills in managing a range of complex ER cases whilst ensuring a business focused, risk managed and legally defensible outcome has been considered. You will contribute to the roll out of global and local HSW initiatives as directed and be the local SME on HSW support. The candidate will support and act as escalation point of reference for colleagues within HR in country, and, as a member of the Global Community of HR Advisory Practice, the incumbent will also interact with other Advisory colleagues in the region and other ANZ locations. Given the position is located in ANZ's North East Asia, Europe America sub-region of the Asia, Pacific, Europe America (APEA) Division/geography, this position will often interact and provide case management SME support to colleagues both in HK but also in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, UK, Germany and USA (note this does not require ER legal expertise across those countries).

You will provide advice which considers financial implications for the business of the relevant service user. Building and maintaining effective relationships with service users and stakeholders will bring success to the role. The role is also imperative in providing clear and compelling advice to service users on complex and/or sensitive ER cases and projects and on HSW matters within area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, the candidate should bring to business demonstrated experience in successfully negotiating and influencing outcomes with employer representatives such as unions and/or legal representatives and/or HSW regulators. Extensive experience acting in an advisory role requiring specialist ER knowledge including misconduct, poor performance, absenteeism, long-term illness and the investigation and resolution of EO complaints and other grievances or equivalent HR experience where ER matters are major components of this role. A commercial acumen with sound judgement abilities will be perfect. Superior negotiating and influencing skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and function as a strong and collaborative colleague and team member will be highly regarded. Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area such as law or ER will be preferred.
