IMD, Central Funding Desk, Secured Funding Trader (Repo/ Stock loan / FX / Collateral Management), Analyst

 

The Central Funding Desk of the Investment Management Division is the group that is responsible for all aspects of funding and liquidity management for all Funds in the Investment Management Division, including Repo, Securities Lending, Cash Management, Prime Broker Relationships, and Liquidity Risk Management. This is a very broad and dynamic role, and apart from the daily trading activities on the desk,  the individual will be expected to be comfortable communicating globally  with Portfolio Managers, Brokers and clients (both internal /external) across many different types of Funds.

The Secured Funding Trader’s responsibilities will include the following (some responsibilities listed may develop over time depending on experience)

•Execute and book repo trades and facilitate short Prime Brokerage borrows in global capital markets

•Assist with FX roll funding trade planning and execution

•Produce reporting and analysis on funding balances and activity

•Contribute to Central Funding priorities and drive change/integration in several areas including:  infrastructure development with Technology, desk efficiencies in processes, and broadening Operations coverage of Funding team activities

•Build and maintain internal relationships with Portfolio Managers, Sales desks, and infrastructure teams

•Provide frequent market color to Fund Portfolio Managers across the various IMD businesses

•Continue to look for opportunities to expand value delivered to clients and business scope

•Develop knowledge and skills to act as a funding expert crossing fixed income and global equities markets

•Build and foster relationships with funding counterparties across the bank and dealer community

Experience required

• Minimum of 2  years financial services experience

• Knowledge of the repo, stock loan, collateral and FX roll markets

• Experience in either a sales/trading, trading (buy or sell side) or middle office role covering repo, stock loans, FX or collateral products 

• Eagerness to assist with infrastructure build outs; defining specifications and testing

• Team player, detail orientated, collaborative, with a solid presence

• Strong passion for the markets

• Be able to demonstrate regulatory awareness
