International Project Accountant
Hays Senior Finance is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a public sector organisation in Dundee in a new permanent role. This job opportunity will see you take on responsibility for the financial management of externally funded activity within the organisation, particularly international projects.
As a key member of the finance team, you will provide essential business partnering support to the Heads of Department and Project Managers in addition to supporting the core finance team with management accounting responsibilities. Your role will involve budget monitoring and reconciliations in addition to ensuring that the financial implications of project activity are incorporated into wider financial reporting. You will determine and apply financial costings for projects and provide cost reports to appropriate stakeholders. In addition, you will develop KPI's to allow effective financial evaluation of projects.
This position will involve significant interaction with internal and external stakeholders and the postholder will be accountable for a range of activities including compliance to funding regulations and internal reporting. You will actively seek to improve systems and processes to maintain a high level of service delivery. This role involves management responsibility for an Assistant Project Accountant.
The successful individual will be a Qualified Accountant or an individual nearing completion of their professional qualification (ACCA, ACMA, CIPFA, CA.) You will have strong management accounting and budget setting / monitoring experience. In addition, you will have had experience of costing or financial appraisal and be a highly competent Excel user.
