Department Overview:

The International Public Finance Group (IPF) is responsible for assigning and maintaining international credit ratings of public entities and their debt issues. The Group currently maintains more than 210 ratings in Europe, Middle-East and Africa and consists of 24 analysts, 3 of which are based in Paris, primarily covering public ratings in France. The rest of the Group is based in Milan, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Warsaw and Moscow, covering the rest of Europe and Africa. 

Job Description:

The job will involve the analysis of subnationals including Local/Regional Governments and State-Owned Enterprises in Turkey, Germany and CEE although there may be opportunities to be involved in ratings in other European countries.

Working as part of a wider team under the supervision of a Senior Director based in Frankfurt, training will be provided as required but the candidate will be expected to assume a considerable degree of responsibility and autonomy immediately.

In addition to writing and managing the production of credit rating reports and special reports, the candidate may be required to travel and conduct long and in-depth meetings with rated subnationals.

He/she will be expected to present credits to a rating committee, liaise with the marketing function, deal with the press and investor queries and speak at conferences.

The job also requires preparation for and attendance at rating committees on subnationals from other geographic areas, and contribution to internal discussions on rating issues and criteria.
