International Services Rep I

Overview : Assists customers with international shipments and domestic shipments, as required. Processes paperwork for international shipments and distributes documents to customs brokers. Uses opportunities of customer interaction to increase FedEx business levels. Position Information : Notifies customers of potential delays in shipment transit due to paperwork or clearance issues Interacts with customers in a proactive manner and clearly communicates solutions that prevent future delays Evaluates paperwork provided by shippers for compliance with US government regulations and country of import requirements Distributes documents electronically to appropriate customs broker Provides administrative support necessary to clear a shipment. This may include, but not be limited to, faxing paperwork, billing a shipment, or emailing information Enters documents shipment history, event activity, and missing documentation data into computer system Maintains accuracy in all functions Maintains professional conduct with internal and external customers Takes every opportunity to exceed customer expectations improving the opportunity for FedEx to increase business Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Performs other assignments (or duties) as required Disclaimer: This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job. Qualifications : High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) One (1) year transportation industry related experience, call-center customer service experience, or other customer service experience in a business office setting Excellent telephone communication skills Must be able to work productivity in a goal oriented environment Excellent reading and written communication skills Good research, problem solving and negotiating skills Must be well organized and able to handle multiple tasks Must be self motivated and able to make independent decisions Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook E-mail Ability to work in a fast paced team environment Motivated to work without constant supervision Nightshift work maybe required Ability and willingness to follow instructions and complete required training Ability to work independently and as a team member Job ID: 41040 JobTitle: International Services Rep I
