The candidate must have 4+ years of experience developing web based client server applications using J2EE technologies. In addition, the candidate must have experience with back-end database technologies that include Oracle and Sybase. This role is to help us develop our portfolio construction tools for Currency and Multi-Asset Class Solutions. We are creating and supporting highly innovative applications for portfolio construction of various asset classes.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must be willing to take direction from senior level developers within the group.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Ongoing enhancements and maintenance of an internally developed web-based trade order management application.
- Taking direction from other senior level developers on the team.
Candidate Qualification and Competencies:
- The ability to work effectively in a global, high performing team environment.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry preferably Front Office
- Demonstrate and applies thorough understanding of software development methodology and protocols
- Excellent project work skills, including testing and documentation.
- An individual with strong personal ownership and the ability to resolve issues independently.
- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate with portfolio managers (end users)
Technology Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Excellent Programming skills in J2EE technologies (JDBC, Servlet, JSP, jQuery and Spring)
- Exposure to Web Services, XML, XSL Transformation, Jasper Reports, JavaScript and AJAX.
- Tuning and performance Java via profiling tool such as Visual VM
- Experience with JBoss
- Strong Oracle PL/SQL, including tuning with tkprof
- Sybase Procedures
- Code change tracking tools (ClearQuest, ClearCase)
- Software development tools (Eclipse)
- Unix, Autosys, Ant, and scripting experience a plus
- Exposure to Automated testing tools.
- Exposure to Caching tools like JBoss Cache or Ehcache.
