Main Function
- To manage existing Cash Pooling Products and develop new solutions and strategies by working with a large number of individuals globally across Barclays Corporate, the Barclays Group and third party organisations; specifically those in sales, operations, technology, legal and other delivery areas, including marketing, communications, training and public relations.
- To define future value opportunities in order to defend and generate significant revenue streams.
Main Responsibilities
Strategy Development 40 %
- Detailed knowledge of the Group and Barclays Corporate strategies and comparison of these to those of competitors in order to identify competitive advantage/disadvantage
- Providing a key influence to Barclays Corporate Executives on development of strategy in relation to the cash pooling product set
- Detailed understanding of specialised market and customer trends
- Product strategy development - medium and long term product planning and budgeting including input into Barclays Corporate Investment Prioritisation Committee
- Identification and evaluation of potential new product solutions
- Strategy for adapting to industry/"compliance" changes
- Coordination of financial models to support investment decisions, business case tracking and sensitivity analysis
Product Performance Management 50%
- Accountability for delivering the right product mix and quality to specific segments of the market
- Accountability for ensuring the delivery of revenue and cost targets in order to maximise profitability across the whole product range as well as key product lines
- Working closely to obtain agreement and buy-in from other areas of Barclays Corporate on product components and trade-offs in pricing/ positioning in customer value propositions - key interfaces include Market Development and Strategy areas
- Work closely with customers and sales teams to review new product concepts/enhancements
- Support Product Solutions Delivery Managers in delivery of new product developments/enhancements, product maintenance, compliance responses and sales
- Specify and revise performance management information requirements/enhancements through Global Cash Management MI Team
- Assess performance against plans established in line with a balanced scorecard framework
- Management of end-to-end process for cash pooling product set
Communication and Influence 10%
- Work with relevant specialist areas, including Marketing, Communications, Training and Sales to embed understanding and promotion of the product set
- Manage and influence key stakeholders to build and maintain close and productive working relationships
