Investment Strategist

Due to some exciting changes that have taken place recently we now have an interesting opportunity available for an Investment Strategist. The role is within an area of the business that provides economic analysis and insights both internally and to a variety of external stakeholders and advises on the overall investment strategy across all asset classes. This is a chance to work within a highly visible role and guide strategic decisions impacting the overall growth of the business.
The role is broken down into the following activities:
- Provide commentary to clients on major economic and market issues.
- Communicate and explain current investment strategies to colleagues and clients.
- Generate and discuss new product ideas and investment solutions for clients.
- Providing analysis of various asset classes and key economic market factors influencing global markets.
- Contribute to the asset allocation decision making process for the multi asset funds.
- Prepare reports which highlight key issues in economic and investment markets to both internal and external clients.
These activities will have a focus around:
- Developing broad investment strategies at an asset allocation level.
- Researching best practice in asset allocation.
- Providing advice to clients and colleagues in fixed interest, equity and other asset class investment teams regarding the economic outlook and investment strategy.
- Presenting investment seminars for clients provide information for financial planners and trustees.
- Modelling financial markets, Updating and constructing graphs.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of business plans with other senior management.
- Attending and contributing to weekly asset allocation meetings.
Types of skills and background we look for include (but are not limited to):
- Ability to present at ease to stakeholders, market participants and clients.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance/economics and other appropriate accreditations.
- Experienced investment market researcher and analyst. Ideally 5 years' relevant experience.
- Demonstrated passion and understanding of investment markets.
- Experience in developing and marketing of new and existing products or strategies (is an advantage).
