Investor Relations
The Investor Relations team serves as an interface between BlackRock and the investment community. The team works closely with the Executive Committee to communicate BlackRock's financial results and key messages in a consistent and strategic manner, while monitoring and presenting the view of the investment community regarding the firm's performance.
We are searching for a VP/ Director that will partner with the Head of Investor Relations to create and execute on global investor relations strategies and initiatives. This includes managing relationships with key shareholders and the sell side community to ensure their understanding of the company's financial performance, strategy, and competitive positioning. It also includes developing written materials for both internal and external audiences and managing events involving key shareholder presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep knowledge of BlackRock's businesses and product offerings in order to discuss company strategy, operations, and competitive position with the investment community.
- Partner with corporate communications to craft communications on quarterly earnings and annual reports, investor conferences, and analyst calls
- Analyze and summarize internal financial and operational data and third-party data in order to provide perspective to senior management and the investment community
- Partner with internal business units to monitor competitive products and strategies
- Research market and industry developments in partnership with BlackRock's Corporate, Business Development, Strategy and Corporate Finance teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors and sell side analysts including implementation of targeting initiatives to establish optimal shareholder base
- Lead Investor Relations projects that may include performing competitive financial analysis summaries, preparing analysis and key messages for our quarterly earnings releases, and aggregating information from various financial data sources
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong quantitative financial and corporate finance skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Existing knowledge of the asset management space is a plus. Experience should include 7-10+ years of broad-reaching business/finance experience with strong preference for direct experience in buy-side or sell-side research, investment banking, consulting, private equity or investor relations and/or buy-side or sell-side research; MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred. Ability to develop strong relationships externally with the investment community and internally with members of our business units, corporate communications, and other teams is critical. Excellent skills in financial modeling with Excel and preparing executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint are required.
