Primary Function
- Educate Financial Advisors, clients, and field leadership on the Capital Advisory product suite
- Partner with Financial Advisors to uncover potential opportunities and deliver sophisticated and innovative solutions to clients and prospects; support and enhance the FA-Client relationship
- Analyze capital structures of clients; advise on appropriateness of structure vis-à-vis client's balance sheet, cash flow and overall financial picture
- Play lead role in credit approval process:
- Supervise credit approval memos/restructure memos
- Direct analysis, due diligence, credit presentation
- Approve credit transactions within authority
- Recommend risk ratings
- Recommend and review documentation and pricing
- Lead credit marketing initiatives within the local market
- Monitor portfolio risk and proactively work to improve portfolio quality and prevent loss
- Serve as key member of our team of specialists, the Capital Advisor manages our most complex borrowing relationships by presenting J.P. Morgan's credit solutions and advising on implementation
Qualifications
- Knowledge of and proven success with complex credit products and concepts including, but not limited to residential real estate loans, concentrated collateral loans, unsecured lending, marketable secured lending, aircraft finance and art lending
- Knowledge of account maintenance, loan closing, credit administration and compliance procedures
- Ability to communicate sophisticated credit concepts to all levels of clients and prospects
- Advanced analytical skills, including financial analysis and the ability to identify and analyze credit opportunities and the attendant credit risks
- Knowledge of capital markets and macro interest rate environment; understanding of wealth management including, but not limited to: investment management, trusts and financial planning
- Sales experience including: profiling, overcoming objections, negotiation, team selling approach, closing the sale and asking for referrals
- Ability to work in a team based environment and assist in the development and retention of junior team members
