Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Assists in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor. Will not have direct reports but will influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations. Provides input on staffing, budget and personnel. Typically 5 or more years of systems engineering experience.

The Card Tuxedo Engineer will work with Business Partners (operations, application teams and/or testing teams) on a daily basis to provide Tuxedo support. Individual may serve as a Tuxedo architect and make recommendation on Tuxedo best practices in application development.

Specifically, the Tuxedo Engineer will be responsible for the administration, design, implementation and support of application infrastructure. All applications supported by this team require 24x7 on-call support. Associate will be responsible for project participation, technical documentation, automation scripting, installation, monitoring, on-call support and troubleshooting across a large enterprise environment predominantly running on UNIX Operating Systems.

Minimum of 5 years technology experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and relationship building skills.

Highly proficient in the Tuxedo middleware administration.

Ability to evaluate, install, test, configure, maintain, monitor performance of and troubleshoot applications.

Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills.(Unix, Networking, DMZ, Firewalls, Tuxedo, J2EE, Web and Application Servers).

UNIX scripting skills. Creation and support of automation scripts, e.g. log rotation and configuration automation.

Thorough understanding of C++, Java/J2EE concepts (JDBC, JMS/MQ, JSP, EJB, JNDI, etc) required.

A good understanding of concepts related to middleware server load balancing and other application scaling concepts.

Understanding of security concepts and their application on the middleware environment.

Ability to follow, improve upon and create processes required for effective systems administration.

Ability to follow [INVALID-WORD]nt change management practices and policies in a production environment

Expertise in load management, failover and high availability architectures.

Experience with Tuxedo versions 8,9,10

Ability to provide high-level technical assistance to application development teams.

General knowledge of RDBMS configurations and implementations , as well as networking (TCP/IP) configuration, load balancing (3DNS, BigIP), and troubleshooting

On-call support for 24x7 applications required.

Desired Skills:

4-year college degree in Computer Sciences or related field.

Experience with Tuxedo v8/9/10

Experience with WAS on z/Linux a plus

Experience with WebSphere Extended Deployment Compute Grid (optional)

J2EE knowledge and Java development skill (optional).

IBM certification in WebSphere Application Server Administration a plus.

Experience with Six Sigma processes and tools.

A background in software lifecycle management and understanding of the testing process are also a plus.
