Junior Originator – German-speaking
Responsibilities:
- The job holder will be in charge of selling EDFTs commodity trading services to existing contacts, regional suppliers and industrials in Germany and Austria.
- Regular calls with these counterparties and the creation of a strong network with traders and portfolio managers of these counterparties are essential.
- You will work closely together with the Head of Origination for Germany and Austria and assist him in identifying opportunities for structured or long term transactions.
- You will work in close cooperation with the Flow Desk.
- In addition your task will involve expanding the network of counterparties in Germany and Austria.
Origination Department
EDF Trading’s origination team works with a wide range of wholesale market counterparts such as utilities, transportation companies and large commodity consumers and producers. Origination activities cover the whole range of the commodities spectrum with a primary goal to complement the standard product related trading activities with non-standard contractual or asset based positions.
The origination team can offer structured transactions tailored to the needs of market counterparties, and may involve a number of different commodities, be long-term and have physical and derivative components. The origination team is also involved in acquiring physical assets as well as arranging long-term purchase and sale contracts across the energy markets.
Essential experience required:
- Previous work experience in the European gas, oil or electricity markets is essential.
- Graduate with a background in Marketing and/or Sales.
- Fluent German language skills, ideally as native language
Person specification:
- Proactive with strong communication and analytical skills
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment is essential
