Lead Application Operations and Systems Engineer – Index Systems recruitment

The responsibilities also include:

Lead new initiatives and manage on-going application support for Global Index Applications.
Support production systems, respond to critical production issues and provide immediate workarounds to maintain business continuity especially during middle-east markets trading hours.
Escalate non-resolvable issues to the appropriate groups (Development, DBA, Systems Engineering etc.)
Troubleshoot system, application, and network configurations.
Perform periodic system health checks to avoid potential outages and proactively address system capacity issues.
Perform Application System Performance tuning and troubleshoot performance issues.
Analyze high level business needs and come up with innovative cost effective solutions.
Effectively interact with customers, business users and IT staff spread globally.
Generate ad-hoc/historical reports as requested by business users.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.

Previous IT experience in application support or development.
Experience in Oracle Database environment - SQL, PL/SQL programming.
Experience in deploying Java applications in Weblogic servers.
Basic knowledge of Java, JavaScript JMS is required.
Experience with different Operating Systems - Red Hat Linux and Windows XP.
Experience using system tools, utilities and third-party products.
Knowledge of Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, Unicast, Multicast, Sockets) and IP addressing.
Experience with Market Data such as Equity, Commodities, Forex, Options asset classes.
Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
