LIGNITE PLANT SUPERVISOR (MECHANICAL)
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the Oak Grove Plant. The Oak Grove facility consists of two PC units, with a cumulative net capacity of 1,600,000 KW and fires locally produced lignite coal.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Research and develop cost effective, accurate, and safe work plans for all mechanical equipment repairs
· Furnish mechanical drawings, specifications and specific materials as well as providing mechanical / technical assistance and guidance to maintenance personnel or contractors to enhance the performance of the department
· The incumbent is required to be knowledgeable of safe work practices, the company safety handbook and applicable company policies and procedures, and that the incumbent will enforce adherence to the safety rules as written.
· Analyze and prioritize mechanical equipment problems and operational problems to insure repairs are made to maintain plant reliability and availability.
· Teams with plant operations, plant maintenance, the plant technical staff and various contractors to ensure site goals and objectives are met in a positive and productive manner.
· Provide short and long-term planning and coordinate mechanical work activities of the team (employees, contractors, service providers, vendors, etc.) and provide project management services as required/assigned
· Provide operational data, statistics, and records support to the Plant Management staff.
· Provide appropriate mechanical / technical direction to craft personnel to ensure adherence to accepted procedures, practices and standards
· Communicates and documents relevant mechanical information concerning craft resources, job status, equipment status and personnel issues to appropriate peers and supervisors in a timely manner using the appropriate means of communication. (verbal, computer based, written)
· Demonstrates a working knowledge of the PR-ISM, PMMS, Outlook and other applicable computer-based software necessary to complete day to day work assignments
· Periodically serves on special committees, short-term task forces, and temporary assignments as directed
· Manage assigned Special Projects in an efficient and cost-effective manner as directed
Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent and seven years related field experience of mechanical equipment in a power plant
· Possess a good understanding of company policies and procedures, labor agreements, power plant processes and safe work practices and procedures
