Manager, Compensation
As Manager, Compensation within the Human Resources Department and reporting to the SVP of Human Resources, the successful candidate will manage the design, development, implementation and administration of NFI’s global compensation program.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
- Compensation Administration: Ensure that market database is updated, review and update compensation policies and procedures; review and make recommendations to changes in U.S. and international salary ranges; ensure that job titles, grades, and job levels are up to date; and develop compensation education materialsmanager’s guide, leveling guidelines, intranet, etc.
- Job Evaluation Process: Ensure that job descriptions are accurately evaluated for grade, title, level, and FLSA status; oversee annual and ad hoc market pricing of U.S. and international jobs; prepare, review, and approve all job offers, salary adjustments, and promotions; approve exceptions; partner with HR Managers or Recruiters to provide advice and recommendations to client managers; and lead project management of special ad hoc analysis e.g., sales compensation, international positions, etc.
- Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) Administration: Responsible for project management of sales plan design process, including evaluating the plan’s effectiveness, proposing plan changes, and coordinating metric and cost modeling; prepare plan budget; draft plan document; prepare plan communications (e.g., CEO presentation, Sales presentation), quota statements, and payout statements; manage data warehouse testing; resolve escalated revenue achievement issues; manage payout process; oversee and approve monthly accruals and forecast updates; and lead continuous process improvements.
- Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) Administration: Provide cost modeling support for plan design; support preparation of Management Committee/Board presentations; oversee and approve monthly accrual; and develop employee communication materials.
- Merit and Bonus Cycle Management: Recommend local merit budgets; calculate bonus funding allocations; develop merit and bonus recommendation guidelines; lead design, testing, and implementation of merit and bonus system; oversee preparation of calibration reports; support facilitation of calibration meetings; and coordinate with Payroll and HRIS for salary adjustments and bonus payments.
- Executive Compensation Support: Provide support to SVP, Human Resources on executive compensation projects, including, but not limited to annual executive compensation analysis, CDA support, etc.
Important Responsibilities:
- Reorganizational support: Play a key role in supporting department reorganizations, including job evaluations, assessing potential compensation impact, providing compensation change recommendations, etc.
- Due Diligence: Acts as HR point of contact for due diligence requests; prepares and coordinates requests with Benefits, HRIS, and Recruitment.
Audit and Financial Reporting Requests: Manages responses to all quarterly and ad hoc domestic and international audit requests, as well as financial reporting requests. - Severance Program Administration: Manages severance calculations and preparation of severance packages in collaboration with HR Managers; approve severance accruals. Retention Plan Administration: Manages retention process, including partnering with HR Managers and client managers to identify need for retention, recommend retention package, and prepare retention
Requirements:
Experience, Education, and Training:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7 years of Compensation experience, including experience with all of the following: job evaluations and market pricing; developing and evaluating salaried (i.e., exempt) compensation structures; implementing a merit and bonus process; and preparing cost analyses, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, solid Word and PowerPoint skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
- Experience with designing, implementing, and administering Sales Incentive Plans preferred.
- Executive compensation experience preferred.
- Equity administration experience preferred.
- International compensation experience preferred.
