Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager, Control Room
In this role, you will
- Provide research related assistance and support for the other functions of the Conflicts Management and Control team.
- Act as key contact in the Conflicts Management and Control team in relation to managing conflicts of interest in connection with investment research.
- Attend industry discussions/roundtables pertaining to control room and research issues.
- Providing guidance on clearing research for publication with regard to identifying and managing any potential conflicts of interest.
- Liaison with other Research Compliance in the Global Control hubs.
- Other ad hoc project work/ support as agreed with the Head of Control Room
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
- Sound knowledge of the banking regulatory framework;
- Good understanding of the public / private side and the Chinese Wall concept;
- University graduate with relevant working experience in the compliance industry, preferably working in investment bank Control Room environment, specialized in research clearance;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- High standard of written documentation;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and on multiple tasks simultaneously and uses initiative to resolve issues;
- Excellent time management and prioritisation of work tasks;
- Committed to completion of work tasks;
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven learning ability;
- Able to work well under pressure; and
- Fluent in Cantonese, English and able to read and write Chinese. Mandarin would also be useful.
