Market Risk Analyst

Ensuring complete capture of market risks across relevant portfolios.
- Providing expert and timely analysis to the Front Office, the Head of Trading Market Risk, the CRO and senior management to ensure that all significant risk issues are escalated appropriately in a clear and concise manner.
- Being able to take complete responsibility for the management of significant new products and new business initiatives.
- Recommending market risk methodology enhancements for new and existing risks.
- Managing internal resources to ensure that business support levels are maintained and improved.
- Actively liaising with support areas to develop the internal infrastructure.
- Taking a lead role on liaising with Group Market Risk to ensure they are fully appraised of developments in London.
- Presenting at Risk Forum(s) and - or at other internal committees.

A Successful candidate must be able to:
- Effectively manage time by prioritising workloads to meet prescribed deadlines.
- Establish effective working relationships with other areas such as Front Office, Quants, Product Control, IT, Middle Office, Credit Risk, Audit and colleagues in Madrid Head Office.
- Articulate recommendations - decisions in an effective and balanced manner, and provide suitable justification in the event of challenge.
- Provide effective support to team members, seeking to enhance the respective individual`s knowledge (technical and presentational).
- Display commitment, enthusiasm and strong work ethic, thereby providing a good example to other team members.
- Provide expert feedback and input to the team on market risk issues.

Qualifications-Accreditations-Professional Membership Level
A Successful candidate must have:
- Numerate background.
- Around 4 years or more relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- A logical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, outcome focused environment
- Highly competent with Microsoft Excel.
- A keen interest in financial markets especially derivatives. It would be preferable for the candidate to have:
- A degree and-or masters in a mathematical or financial subject.
- An understanding
