Overview

Head a local MA team in New York focusing on advisory and cross-border MA opportunities as well as private placements, capital raises, and corporate as the business matures. 

Primary Responsibilities

1.All duties associated with traditional advisory MA investment banking. Focus on deal origination, marketing, and supervision of the execution of MA transactions.

2.Responsible for pipeline opportunities in the U.S., and cross-border in Spanish Speaking Latin America targeting existing sectors i.e. energy, construction, TMT, as well as expanding into other sectors such as consumer, industrial and manufacturing, etc

3.Define the strategy and priorities for the business.

4.Prepare the annual budget including definition of resources required.

5.Manage and train a small team, coordinating each individual’s activities and responsibilities. Performing annual performance appraisals and participating in salary and promotions reviews.

6.Supervise preparation of pitch books and pitching to clients, managing the transaction process and negotiating terms with investors. On the investor side, responsibilities include supervising tracking investment activity and fund raising across sectors, tracking investor profiles and developing relationships with the buy-side. 

7.Establish and strengthen relationships with other regions to help identify potential cross border opportunities as well as to assist in the execution of cross-border opportunities. 

Job Qualifications/Requirements

• MBA, undergraduate in business, finance, or equivalent experience

• Minimum 10-15 years in MA banking with small to mid-size boutique investment banks, with a strong preference for previous experience in cross-border MA involving Iberian and Spanish Speaking Latin American companies and exposure to a variety of sectors

• Extensive transaction experience, including:

–Deal origination

–Strong Client relationships with private equity, hedge fund, or corporates

–Financial analysis including comparable transaction analyses and trading analyses

–Drafting of various documents and agreements, including stock purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, non-disclosure agreements, joint venture agreements, etc.

–Transaction closing

–Negotiations

• Strong people management skills

• Series 7 and 63 licenses (or obtained within first three (3) months of service)

• Fluent Spanish or Portuguese a plus
